Dr Rajit Mazumder

Rajit is an economic historian with a particular interest in modern South Asia, including India and Pakistan, and the impact of the British Indian Army on the development of science and technology in colonial India. British India, the military, and society and nationalism are broader areas of interest. Rajit speaks fluent Hindi, Nepali and Bengali in addition to English. He holds a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, and a First Class BA (Hons) in Economics from St Stephens College at Delhi University. Rajit is currently Assistant Professor at DePaul University in Chicago.
